Kammererite

Kammererite is a beautiful blue mineral that was first discovered in Germany in the early 1800s. Its name comes from the German word “Kammer,” meaning “room,” because of the distinct crystal-like shape of the Kammererite specimen.

Interestingly, Kammererite is not actually a crystal, but rather a mineraloid, meaning it doesn’t have a definite chemical structure. Nevertheless, it remains a popular choice for jewelry and collectors due to its unique appearance. Kammererite typically ranges in color from pale blue to deep blue, and can sometimes even appear violet.

It’s found all over the world, but some of the most notable deposits are in Australia, Austria, Italy, and Russia. So if you’re ever lucky enough to spot a piece of Kammererite, be sure to appreciate its one-of-a-kind beauty!
